Third place for Pepper in German dialogue marketing agency ranking
12.08.2010
Pepper has succeeded in holding its position as one of Germany’s leading dialogue marketing agencies for three consecutive years. The agency achieved third place in the ranking of trade publications Horizont and Werben & Verkaufen.
It was the network-independent agency’s promise of measurable results in marketing and sales that resonated with customers during the economic crisis. “When budgets shrink or come under increasing pressure, greater efficiency is required,” commented CEO Markus Dunz. “Communications measures and solutions from Pepper differentiate themselves through their tangible and measurable successes. It’s a standard by which we also measure ourselves.” Despite a competitive marketing environment, Pepper managed to avoid losing clients and accounts, while winning valuable new projects from clients such as Adobe, Fitness First, SAP and Siemens. “Companies cut budgets significantly and demanded greater value for investments made. This trend was reflected by both our own experiences and a study that we carried out with the University of Augsburg,” explains Dunz.
The study concluded that an economic crisis prompts customers to place more emphasis on results measurement and analytical Customer Relationship Management (CRM). 57% of companies questioned reduced their marketing spending. Yet over half increased their investment in marketing measures underpinned by measurable results and analytical CRM. Two thirds would like to see marketing processes simplified and automated. Customer loyalty and customer satisfaction are considered very effective strategies in managing an economic downturn: nearly two thirds of those who participated in the study are investing in a sales force able to provide a more personal level of customer care. A secondary emphasis is placed on competitive pricing strategies and a shortening of product lifecycles. Increasing brand awareness and expanding into new markets was not considered of key importance.
