Norton reseller promotion
Symantec
The challenge
Symantec wanted to increase revenue by encouraging resellers to sell more Norton products. They also wanted to win new partners for the Norton Partner Portal and to strengthen their relationship with resellers, increasing their product knowledge via online training and embedding the Symantec philosophy (quality, speed and performance) more deeply in their minds. The challenge was to communicate these Symantec values and at the same time motivate resellers in 11 countries to participate in a promotion, within a short time frame.
The idea
Pepper created a promotion based on Symantec’s company values: quality, speed and performance. To motivate partners to participate in the promotion, we offered a grand prize which not only embodied the company values but motivated and fascinated partners, too: a Lotus Elise. This was used as the key visual in all the partner communication we created. Resellers were informed about the campaign via eDMs, print ads, flyers, etc. and via distributors’ own tool kits. To take part in the promotion, they were asked to register on the Norton Partner Portal and complete one of three trainings for the products Symantec was promoting. Then they were encouraged to order as many Norton products as possible and to submit all their invoices. Each invoice, for each product ordered, worked like a lottery ticket, entering them into the monthly prize draw for an iPad and also for the first prize draw—the Lotus Elise.
The result
- Campaign was rolled out in 11 countries and nine languages
- Registration rose from <300 (2009) to >9,000 (end 2011)
- Campaign goals were reached in all countries
- Pepper executed entire promotion in 1.5 months (concept, creation, execution, dispatching of prizes)
